after waking up at 6am in a new york hotel trying to figure out who was making constant weird noises throughout the night (for the record- pigeons), we spent our first real day browsing through soho and trying to keep ourselves from pulling out all major credit cards and possibly a second bag for the way home.  for our second night, our usual camera-whoreishness somehow was put on the backburner while we enjoyed another progressive drinking evening meeting new people and occasionally dancing on bars.  we did find this completely dark hole in the wall that featured real working candles covering every spare surface (the bartender told us it took her nearly an hour each night to light the individual tealights on the ten thousand sconces along the wall.  she either was lying or incredibly talented), a giant throne, and medieval church pews scattered throughout the back.  found our new favorite bar hype, and we met a great group that joined us in our stumble to meatpacking....where we somehow managed to avoid the ridiculously overpriced cover and end the night closing down one of the hottest clubs in the area.  reason #264 why we love nyc.

definitely in love with this video.....and song.  i love how it celebrates a night hitting up the city and being fabulous, and was appropriate background music to every night while in new york.  also love how the song is still constantly playing in my mind alllll night long. 

its only as real as you believe it to be



so we managed to make it to nyc and back in one piece, with our bags clocking in at just a few ounces under the 50 lb weight limit.  who knew we would have to carry our luggage up 4 flights of stairs to our walk- in closet of a room...but yet it was so worth it.  somehow we managed to make it through getting frisked at the airport, me almost starting an argument with the airport security man about whether or not my sweater was a jacket or a shirt (i win, its a shirt), and having people stare for our excessive amount of photo opportunities on the plane.  you would have thought it was our first time out of the house.  first night out we somehow managed to hit up every hole in the wall bar in the city.  our friends once described us as being a hurricane, and i think we took new york by storm on this one.

random shots from new years eve......amanda and i took the ultimate road trip to nashville and spent the weekend struggling with our new obsession- hot rollers- having a progressive drinking afternoon while holding back tears over the lack of open stores on new years day, and bringing about two weeks worth of luggage for a two day trip, most of which was left inadvertantly at the guy's place anyway. spending the evening getting pumped up for our new york trip and debating the idea of spending $80 each way apiece to check luggage (one suitcase for clothes, two for shoes-each).  may have some diva moves by having the nashville forgotten wardrobe fed-exed to ny as well.  happy new years everybody, hope you have as much fun as we do. xoxo

relaxing evening with amanda, drinking our new years eve reserves, watching awesome teen movies (hannah montana and easy a?! must see!), and getting ready by organizing our wardrobes for our trips next week.  i think we will be the only people who have to check two suitcases each for a three day trip. the arrival of her brand new jimmy choo hunter boots prompted an impromptu photo shoot on her porch, while we enjoyed not freezing our asses off since the temps finally decided to creep above 40.  thought her sparkling new boots are a good contrast to my broke down bcbg's....back to more movies while we download music and bid farewell to 2010!

i would like to say that my lack of posting has been out of sheer laziness, or that i have soooo much going on in my life that i can't find time to dress myself, let alone post, but really it is my lack of a properly functioning internet as well as a lack of a photographer.  good thing one of my best ever friends kelly lenard is extremely talented and was able to shoot a few unexpected pics in the most unexpected of places- wine fest- this spring.  wine fest also happened to take place near this awesomely weird campsite that included several random broken down cars and trucks, army gear, and a paintball site to make any military trainee jealous.  (i assume, i don't know for sure, but it sure made me jealous so its close enough).   probably one of the only times you may catch me in flats, but hiking through extreme mud while drinking a variety of alcoholic beverages with my bff's calls for some underappreciated footwear.
